Finally got a date locked in for my lumbar fusion surgery. May 6th!!
I just want to get to the other side of healing ASAP.
The last surgery I had was in 1998 for removal of my gallbladder.
Didn’t go very well because I was allergic to the Demerol they gave me. They said I died for about 10 mins.
Thank goodness I don’t remember anything.
They tried to force an adult sized tube down my throat, which tore up my throat terribly. Finally they decided to try a child sized tube with success and revived me.
My throat was so sore afterwards and I was spitting up blood from all the damage the large tube did. Still, I’m very grateful that they saved my life whatever means it took. This time going into surgery I let them know about this, just incase they need to revive me again. I still have problems with sore throats to date because of the damage then.
I can’t deny, I am a little nervous about this surgery because of what happened in the last one. The one thing that brings me comfort is that we now know I’m allergic to Demerol.
So I’m hoping for the best. 😉💖
You got this @angelainpain !!
