Finially got some answers. Not exactly what I wanted to hear but It’s what I am going to have to deal with from now on.
I have scoliosis in my mid back. They said the curve is 10%. With mild disc narrowing and lateral spurring.
I have spondylosis in my thoracic spine.
I have Multilevel disc narrowing L1-L2, L4-L5. Moderate Disc narrowing L5-S1. Degenerative Spondylolisthesis L4 on L5 of 2mm. Sacarlization of of L5 on the left. Marked facet arthropathy L4-L5 bilaterally.
This is why I am in so much pain all the time. Mind you I have never been in an accident, they asked. I have never had any trauma to my back. I played sports as a kid all the way up till I was 17. I am a over weight yes but, my doctors tell me most of thus never should have happened to my back and as bad as it. Like I said I am over weight but not that over weight. I think it’s like 90 pounds. I gained the weight with my kids and never lost it but I am trying and it is so hard to do when you hurt all the time.2 Comments-
Please, Don’t let doctors blame your pain on weight loss. I have been grossly underweight my entire life and have a 10 pain score 24/7 when I’m not medicated. Weight loss may help you have more energy, be more active thus stronger and have a better sense of well being. Low and slow always wins the race. Focus on weight has no bearing on pain and is a source of stress when told to lose weight. This is equally annoying as suggesting yoga ((roll eyes)) I was told to lose 20 pounds by some goof about 11 years ago- I lost about 200 pounds in 2 minutes when I walked out of his office and never looked back. LOL Do what you can do, at your own pace. PT should be able to devise a special set of movements tailored for you that won’t cause further trauma to your spine. *Having an explanation as to why you are having pain is step one of rebuilding the best you!
Oh @Melissa-Reeves-Collins I am so glad you finally received some answers but I am sorry that they were not ideal. It’s SO hard to get up and moving when you are in constant pain. Did they recommend any form of plan for the weight loss they are recommending? Our community would love to help you stay on track if it requires any exercise/dieting if you are needing the support. Hugs to you, happy Friday.
