My pain is constant unless I’m sitting with an ice pack I just detoxed from being on narcotics for over 15 years. I knew my body was addicted and all the pain prescriptrx were merely keeping withdrawal at bay. My pain is the same. Now that I’m off everything, I would like to know if other’s have a way to deal? Acupuncture has not worked nor massage, PT, nor two spinal stimulators
I hope to hear from those in the Chronic Pain Group.
There was an article in the Washington Post about how pain is derive from childhood trauma teaching the Brain to experience pain. It said we needed to not think we are making it up or that it isn’t real for us, just that we had to train the brain to ignore.4 Comments-
I would suggest having cortisone injections. These have helped me a great deal. The type that my Certified Pain Clinic uses at Yale-New Haven Hospital is not as harmful to the body as many steroid injections that were used in the past. I have found very effective severe pain relief for a 5 month period then they are needed again. Be very careful taking NSAIDs or Tylenol on a daily basis. After prolonged use they can cause intestinal bleeding and urinary problems. Hope this helps.
I’m so sorry to hear you’re in so much pain. Chronic pain can be extremely difficult to live with, that’s what places like this community are so important. I encourage you to reach out and try to connect with others on here. There’s a lot of great people in here that would love to help.
If you haven’t already, you should join our chronic pain group. You can chat with others who have chronic pain and learn about different ways to better live with your pain.
We also have an addiction group where you can talk with other people who are in recovery to help expand your support network.
I hope this helps!
