My husband suffers from Chronic Pain due to Acute Osteo-Arthritis and degenerative disc disease. I have been researching TENS units and any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    • Welcome @lilbrightone there was just a discussion recently about TENS units, let me see if I can find the thread for you.

    • @lilbrightone I’d definitely ask his doctor first of course, but there are a LOT of highly-rated TENS units available on Amazon! I personally had a great experience using them in the past for my back and shoulder pain that I experienced after a car wreck. I hope that helps! 🙂

    • If you have insurance it would be covered for sure but your options may more more limited. The one I have literally sitting in front of me at the moment is a POHAKU model AS8012 -I do like it, it’s small, portable, gives you options of pad sizes and a huge array of settings for pulses as well as low to high strength and timer. It’s small, cellphone size and I was expecting a weak unit-not the case at all! Don’t make the mistake I did, underestimate it and crank it up at first-you’ll send him to the moon gahh

      • Red light therapy is one thing that has helped me heal to the point where I am currently (far from wonderful but I’m no longer bed bound) . It has been eons but at PT they used it and it felt like it was the most effective treatment for my pain at the time. I’m sure they have home devices either OTC or even a prescription and insurance route would work. My dream treatment is cryogenic therapy- where they dip you in sub zero temperatures for a few minutes to decrease inflammation. If I ever win the lotto, that is what I will be doing. lol

    • Don’t forget stretching. I have the same plus djd. I like dry needling. It really helps with the pain in the muscles and better movement. Also help with sciatica.
