The Truth About How Chronic Pain Affects Relationships
-
Top reason I got divorced, and not in the way you think. It’s very difficult to suffer with chronic pain and other ailments and still be viewed as ‘normal’ just because you just literally crawled to the kitchen and made the kids grilled cheese. I’d rather be alone than have someone sit and watch vs. getting off their @ss and helping-better yet-just do it! But nope, video games were more important. Pain really does weed out those who carry the internal drive and strength to continue to push through life and tasks vs. those who use it as an excuse to do nothing. A husband should never act like another child in that aspect, should be a man and want to help, so yeah, I chose to do it alone and never looked back.

@eclecticzebra Ugh. I am right there with you. When you are chronically ill, there is NO room for a lazy and non-understanding partner.

Now THIS is something that doesn’t get discussed enough. People seem understanding until it begins inconveniencing them.
